Turnstile made memories over the weekend while staging their benefit show by the Washington Monument, with the much-loved hardcore breakouts bringing reportedly 60,000 hardcore fans to the capital for a shared cause.
The Baltimore quintet had announced the show at Washington, D.C.’s National Mall earlier this month, noting that it would be free to attend but was likewise set to raise funds for humanitarian efforts in Palestine, Sudan, and Lebanon. All proceeds would be donated to Human Concern International, and divided equally between those three regions. So far, the band and HCI’s LaunchGood page for the event has raised more than $260,000 USD, and counting.
Turnstile kicked off the afternoon performance with NEVER ENOUGH’s fast-flapping “BIRDS,” while the set concentrated heavily on hits from both NEVER ENOUGH and 2021’s GLOW ON. They also hit older cuts, including a trio of tracks from 2013’s Step 2 Rhythm, before closing out on their fast-and-unifying “T.L.C. (TURNSTILE LOVE CONNECTION)”.
Photographer Harrison Webb was there to catch all the historic hardcore action — you can see some of his standout shots below.
